Andros is the largest of the Bahama islands with the lowest population
density. It features spectacular diving and the third largest barrier reef
in the world where 12 ft shallows suddenly plunge 6000 ft into the
Tongue of the Ocean. The unspoiled habitat on Andros contains a
diverse ecosystem with orchids and bromeliads next to tidal flats and mangrove
estuaries. Mankind's footprint here is very small. Also included in this
image are Nassau/New Providence, capitol of the Bahamas, and Green Cay.
The area covered by this image is approximately 108x140 miles.
