Massachusetts is called the Bay State for good reason as can be seen here.
This image includes Block Island, Narragansett Bay, Martha's Vineyard and
Nantucket, all of Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, Plymouth Bay, Boston, Cape Ann, and
Portsmouth, NH. Boating is very popular in this region during the summer and
many boats can be seen, especially in Buzzards Bay and around Martha's
Vineyard. East of Gloucester are feeding grounds for humpback whales who have
returned for the summer from their winter migration to the
Caicos Islands. The Boston area is proud of its
history and the key role it played during the Revolutionary War. These events
are celebrated with great pride and passion every 4th of July. There are no
better places to witness this celebration than Boston and the surrounding
towns.
The area covered by this image is approximately 92x138 miles. A
full-resolution crop of the image file is available
here that shows the detail present in
the full image print. Note: the bright area around Cape Cod is glare from
the sun. This image combines breadth of coverage with fine detail and so
is best printed at the large size, 35"x47", to display all of its detail.
